Depression

World of Psychology

Looking through some of the top health blogs on technocrati, I found the ‘World of Psychology’ blog to be quite helpful. This article on diet coke and depression talks about some of the harmful chemicals that are found in such processed foods, and in particular how aspartame affects depression. Eating a healthy diet constitutes of avoiding processed foods which contain many harmful and unhelful chemicals which can hurt the body, for example by making it harder for the liver to detoxify. Aspartame also found in Ice Cream is another example of such an unhelpful chemical. Another article related to depression explains how having too many options can stop people with depression from making decisions, a difficulty I can personally attest to with experience of mental illness. Another article compares different demographic statistics on depression to see who is more depressed. All in all I found these topics useful, interesting, and talking about specific issues relating to how we can better our health. I think they are also relevant to some of the articles on depression we’ve had here, and so were worth listing for a read.
