Sickness Absence Medicals
Days lost at work from staff being absent due to sickness or long term injury can be very costly both for small and large companies.
Most companies will have the right contained in an employees Contract of Employment to request an employee to have an Independent Medical Assessment by the company doctor. The assessment enables the company to better understand the reasons behind the employee being off work, can help recommend actions to enable the employee to return to work as soon as possible and to make changes in the workplace if appropriate when the employee is able to return.
The company doctor will typically be Occupationally Health trained and well versed in Employment legislation in particular with the Disability Discrimination Act ('DDA'). Companies have a legal duty to ensure that they look after the Health and Safety of their employees and claims for Unfair Dismissal can be brought against a company that falls foul of the legislation.
At Private GP Services we have 3 doctors who are occupationally health trained including:

- Dr Maureen Coggins, FFOM
We also have 2 nurses with Occupational Health experience.

We will require you to complete an Account Opening Form and confirm you have understood our Terms and Conditions of service. Credit is only available by prior agreement. We will supply you with a full set of Management Referral Documentation to enable you to mange the process effectively with your staff.

Swine Flu Vaccinations

Swine Flu Vaccinations are now available at the practice for anyone whos is in an 'at risk' group. This includes 1. Children aged 6 months to 5 years, 2. Anyone suffering from a chronic illness or whose immune system is compromised or anyone living with such a person, 3. Pregnant women.

This year's annual flu vaccinations are now available from the practice. Please ring to book an appointment. You may also like to consider having a Pneumococcal vaccination to immunize you against Pneumonia which is a potentially severe complication if you do get flu.
