Physiotherapy

The practice has a fully qualified and health professions council registered Physiotherapist. Dave Orton graduated with his BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree from the University of Hertfordshire in 2004. He spent three years within the NHS whilst working part time for Saracens Rugby Club and playing County representative rugby before moving to Watford Football Club. Dave worked with the Academy for two seasons and then the 1st team for a further two seasons in the NPower Championship. Dave utilizes a variety of treatment adjuncts including acupuncture, Kinesio tape, manipulations & strapping and he has now come back to rugby and joined Leicester Tigers in 2010 working with the 1st team. Dave has completed his MSc in Sports Injuries in June 2011 and in addition to this, has consulted for Red Bull Formula One and National competitors in athletics and martial arts.

Dave covers a range of musculoskeletal disorders including back pain, neck pain and sports injuries, post-operative treatment, headaches and stress related disorders, ergonomic assessments and general lifestyle issues. Physiotherapy provides an in-depth assessment into your presenting problem. Our complex approach focuses on the alignment of bones alongside the action and quality of muscles, ligaments, tendons and soft tissue. We aim to provide initial pain relief and benefit as well as looking into the underlying problem, accompanied with an individual rehabilitation program focussing and relating to your presenting condition.

Measles In Europe

As we write, there have been over 1000 cases of Measles in France. Switzerland and Germany also have significant problems with measles. This is because these countries do not have such good immunisation coverage as we do in the UK. By contrast there have been 80 cases in England. The most recent outbreak of measles is at Leeds University where so far 15 students have been affected. The first case was exposed during a skiing trip to France.
