CONSULTATION
When you first attend the practice, please ensure that you arrive approximately 15 minutes before your appointment so that you can complete all the various forms required for registration. Our staff are trained to support you with this and to answer your questions and they will escort you to the Doctor's surgery at the time of your appointment. The Doctor will spend some time going through your medical history with you and it will be helpful for the Doctor to know whether you are attending for a single visit or whether you want to register as a full personal care patient.
The Doctor will take time to listen to everything that you wish to say and following this, will probably want to carry out an examination. Please ensure that you discuss with the Doctor whether or not you wish to have a chaperone for any part of the examination. The Doctor will always fully explain why any examination is required and you will always have the option of declining if you wish. The practice places client or patient consent issues as the highest priority and no practice procedure will take place unless you have given your consent. In certain instances, your written consent will be necessary e.g. accepting single vaccines for your children, or if we need to write to your NHS GP.
Chaperones
If you do think that you would like to have a chaperone present, please don't hesitate to bring along a member of your family or friend. If however you would like one of our staff to act as a chaperone please don't hesitate to ask us and if we are unable to do this on the day of your visit, we will organize another appointment for you to come back when a chaperone is present. Your comfort is of utmost concern to us and we will therefore try our hardest to help and support you.
We always aim to discuss fees prior to carrying out any procedures such as blood tests or X-rays. Please don't hesitate to ask us if you have any queries about this aspect of our service.
Surgery hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Out of hours services are not routinely supplied except if you have purchased the personal care option where by the practice pager number will be given to you.
