Private General Practice Services Visit Ghana

In March 2008 Dr Julia Piper, Mike Piper, and David Piper visited Ghana on behalf of the practice charity The Foundation for Community Inspiration together with 3 representatives from the Family of Schools in Sheffield. Whilst in Ghana they were guests of Blue Skies in Ghana. During the visit Dr Piper opened a new medical clinic at Blue Skies, and visited a number of schools and villages in the Central Region of Ghana. Following the trip the Foundation agreed to sent further medical supplies to the Blue Skies clinic, has sent children's books to be used in the clinic and some of the local schools and has agreed to finance the building of a kindergarten and community centre in a village called Budukwa in the Central Region of Ghana in collaboration with The Family of Schools in Sheffield. The practice and the Family of Schools are now raising money towards this and a nunber of other projects designed to help this and other villages and schools in the Central Region.

New Nutritionist

Our new in house Nutritionist, Lindsay Kubicki, will be joining the practice on 30th March. Lindsay is highly qualified and experienced. Lindsay has a degree in Nutritional Medicine, She is an active member of her professional body, the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT), and serves on the Committee on Continuing Professional Development. She is particularly interested in research developments in functional medicine and preventive nutrition.
