HIV-DUO Tests

• The HIV-DUO tests for HIV 1 and 2 antibodies and the p24 antigen which gives earlier diagnosis. Results are available quickly. The test normally becomes positive from four weeks after contact.
• If the initial test is positive we will go on to confirm the result using three independent techniques and if these are positive we will review you in Surgery and refer to an HIV specialist.
• If the earlier diagnosis is necessary, the HIV-1 proviral DNA test can be done from day 10 post exposure but the test will only apply to HIV-1 infection.
• This HIV test costs £220.
• To confirm all negative results patients are advised to retest at 3-6 months™ time.

HIV - Standard Test

Cost of the standard HIV test is £95 including consultation.

HIV Insti Test

• This instant HIV test provides results within 60 seconds following a simple prick of blood from the fingertip. The INSTI HIV test produced by BioLytical Laboratories is utilised. It is very accurate from 90 days post contact for detecting HIV antibodies. At our private STD Clinic in Leicester we can arrange same day appointments and STD tests can be carried out in as little as 10-15 minutes. All the latest STD standard tests are available and where necessary this is without the use of swabs.
